Trying the Brazilian Way

So we made this yummy meal a week or two ago. Whenever I go to a Brazilian Restaruant, I always eat about a billion bacon-wrapped chickens (yum!). And I decided to try it out myself. And I just took about 1 lb of chicken and cut it into big chunks, sprinkled it with garlic pepper seasoning, wrap a 1/2 a strip of bacon around it and put it on a kabob. I filled the kabob up and then put it on my foreman. Then I repeat till I run out of chicken and bacon. They cook quick and are so very yummy. And there you have it, a yummy quick meal. (These pictures I borrowed from and internet search, but they look the same)

And I also experimented with making another one of my Brazilian favorites, coxinhas. These are so good! When I was down in Brasil there was a bakery down the street from our hotel and they had the best pasteries to eat. Among my favorites was a coxinha! Yum! David brought this recipe home one day and I tried it. A coxinha, for those of you who don't know what it is, it has chicken (cooked in garlic and onion) and sometimes cheese (I used cream cheese because we don't have the cheese that was in the ones I ate in Brasil) on the inside and surrounded with that is a soft bread (made from flour and chicken broth- homemade broth is the best). And they are in the shape of a teardrop. The first few were a bit hard to shape but I figured it out and I loved them and got better at them, plus I felt good that I made such a yummy snack. And the best part of all- Maddie ate almost more then I did, if Maddie eats it that means its good.

I also tried it with Rice Flour (my brother has celiac disease- can't have gluten) in place of the wheat flour. And wow they were easier to shape than the original ones and tasted the same. So a sucess!

My next experiment is to try a sonyo. I just need to find the recipe. And I just thought that I would share the chicken recipe because it is so yummy!

Look at you! I don't attempted to cook new meals as much as a try to bake... I guess I just like dessert, muffin, and such too much! But I might just have to try the chicken/bacon wrap. I'm also just learning the ins and outs of sewing. You've seem to have gotten it down! I love the new pictures on the side of your blog! You've girls are adorable!
